Speak up, take action, and help your campus become part of the tobacco-free movement!
Check out this video that Dr. Lawrance (Director of Leave The Pack Behind) created about some common questions and misconceptions around tobacco and smoke-free campus policies.
Leave The Pack Behind and Public Health partners encourage post-secondary campuses in Ontario to take a 1Day Stand.
What? 1Day Stand calls upon institutions to adopt a tobacco-free policy for one day.
Why? By hosting a 1Day Stand event on campus, this can start a conversation that could end in a healthier campus for all.
How? Make your post-secondary campus tobacco-free for a day:
- Encourage students who use tobacco to quit for the day, with an aim to quit for good.
- Get students’ opinions towards tobacco use on campus.
- Raise awareness of the benefits of tobacco-free campus policies.
- Promote the adoption of permanent tobacco-free policies.
When? Wednesday, March 21, 2018
Get started! Here is a toolkit of information for executing a 1Day Stand on your campus with suggested activities and social media messages.
